| Today really has been amazing.
First of all, I woke up in an extremely good mood, which is very rare. Got to see the new LP video on MTV before I went to school. I got to drive to school. And, when I got to school, four of my friends arrived at the same time.
My friend Kyrie and I went down to the band office to get her research report. See, her boyfriend's mom is the assistant band director and was printing Kyrie's paper out for her down there. When we got there, we talked to Gail, our assistant band director, for a few minutes. Mike, Kyrie's boyfriend, came into the room with Mr. Belsaas, our director, talking about his trumpet solo. Mr. Belsaas saw me and went over to his cabinet and pulled out a shiny new piccolo. And I got some gum from Mike.
Then, Kyrie and I went to first hour where we spent the whole hour just talking and not doing much. Our class decided we needed to watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. After that, I went to second hour, Physics. We had to finish reading our chapter and do some really easy questions. It only took a few minutes to do the questions since I was working with Chris and Austin. We really wanted to get our stuff done so we could do nothing for about forty minutes or so. And really, that's what we did. Chris, Austin, Hayden, Mike, Nick, and I spent about forty minutes talking about video games, computers, cars, English, band, and jobs this summer.
Lunch was next. The school decided to give out free ice cream/popsicles to everyone. And newspaper, wow. Sami and I spent about an hour on page 5. And we got it almost done. All that's missing is the letter from Coach Curtis. So amazing. Went to Psychology after that and all we did was finish One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Talked to Joel about English, discussing how our debates are going to turn out when we start them in about a week.
Sami, MJ, and I stayed after to try and finish layout on our three pages for newspaper. I GOT MY PAGE DONE! And that page is entirely mine. I designed. I layed it out. I did part of the interviews. I worked with the Photos team to get all 11 pictures for the Top 11 of 2007. It is my page. When the issue comes out next week, don't be surprised if I scan a picture of the page and post it here.
On my way home, I stopped at the Black Cat, the bowling alley that's just over the hill so maybe .20 of a mile from my house the long way. Seriously, this place is so close that unless a train is parked in my front yard, and yes that has happened before, it's quicker to just walk there than it is to drive. I filled out an application and the owner interviewed me on the spot. He told me he'd call me sometime over the weekend. I may have a job soon! I need it.
Got home and played the Sims 2 for a bit. It ran really well. My mom and I went to the store and just about everything in the frozen dessert section was on sale. Including the Pepperidge Farm cakes, which are normally around $4.99. It was $2.50 for one. I haven't broken into my cake yet. I'm going to wait a little bit longer until my mom is up and can share it with me.
I got home and my dad was playing Poker. Texas Hold'em No Limit, just in case you were wondering. He needed to go out and start the grill because we had burgers and asked me to play for him. When I started playing, he had about 35,000 chips. When he had me quit playing about 40 minutes later, the chip total was 143,000.
So all in all, it's been a very good day. Or, as Sengoku ( :D ) would say, ~Lucky~! |
